Noryl

Noryl®

PPE, or polyphenylene ether (PPE) resin blended with polystyrene (HIPS). Known for its excellent dimensional stability, heat resistance and good electrical properties. Ideal for the automotive and alliance sectors.

  • Thermal and dimensional stability
  • Low water absorption
  • Mechanical strength
  • Temperature range -40°C to +105°C
  • Flame retardancy to UL 94 V-O
  • Low creep
  • Lightweight and machinable
  • Paintable
  • Poor resistance to hydrocarbons, ketones and aromatics
  • Cost
  • Heat sensitivity
  • Temperature limitations for a HPM
  • UV degradation known to go yellow
  • Design limitations when requiring maximum strength.

Connectors, pump, impellers, valves, power tools and much more

Noryl GF30

PPE, or polyphenylene ether (PPE) resin blended with polystyrene (HIPS), with 30% glass fiber reinforcement. Offers all the properties of Noryl, but with higher mechanical strength and lower creep. Perfect for indoor and outdoor applications

  • Mechanical strength, tensile and flexural.
  • Temperature range -50°C to +110°C
  • Very low moisture and hydrolytic absorption rates
  • Good electrical insulation
  • Low specific gravity, lightweight
  • FDA compliance
  • Poor resistance to hydrocarbons, ketones and aromatics
  • Machinability. Requires slow feeds and speeds
  • Cost and availability
  • UV degradation, but better than standard Noryl
  • Susceptibility to stress cracking under load.
