Cast Nylon PA6G (OmniAmid)

OmniAmid® PA6 G

Cast Nylon 6G, or Polyamide 6 (PA6). Produced by casting caprolactam which results in a material with high crystallinity, low stress, and excellent wear, fatigue and mechanical strength. Used to replace metals in many industrial parts like gears and bearings.

  • Higher strength and stiffness than extruded PA6
  • Hardness and wear resistance
  • Temperature range -30°C to +90°C
  • Higher load applications
  • Available in larger sizes
  • Easier machinability than Extruded Nylon.
  • High moisture absorption
  • Poor UV and thermal stability
  • Brittle at lower temperatures on impact
  • Less precise to manufacture than extruded PA6
