Phenolic Cotton Laminates

SRBF Phenolic coarse (PFCC42 rod and PFCC 202 sheet)

SRBF, or synthetic resin bonded fabric medium weave, also can be called Whale, B12 or F2 depending on manufacture,  this is a durable laminate known for its mechanical and electrical properties. Ideal electromechanical parts.

  • Composition, Thermoset composite for high rigidity
  • Low water absorption
  • Impact resistance compared to fine weave
  • Mechanical strength, tougher in rugged applications
  • Temperature range -40°C to +115°C
  • Chemical resistance
  • Good electrical insulation
  • Wear resistance
  • Machinability, requires extraction
  • Higher water absorption compared to fine weave
  • Limited electrical performance in high-voltage insulation
  • Coarser finish
  • Design limitations when requiring maximum strength
  • Layering weaknesses, if not machined correct

Bearings, gears, jigs, fixtures, cams, rotor vanes and much more

SRBF Phenolic fine (PFCC41 rod and PFCC 204 sheet)

SRBF, or synthetic resin bonded fabric fine weave, also can be called Carp, B10 or F1 depending on manufacture, is a high-quality laminate known for its better machinability and electrical properties compared to coarse weave.

  • Composition, Thermoset composite for high rigidity
  • Impact resistance
  • Overall strength compared to course weave
  • Temperature range -40°C to +115°C
  • Electrical insulation low to medium voltage
  • Better wear resistance compared to course weave
  • Fine finish
  • Lower impact strength
  • Poor resistance to concentrated acids and alkalis
  • Machinability, requires extraction
  • Cost
  • Layering weaknesses, if not machined correct

Cams, rings, sleaves, guides, mounting plates and much more
